Dr. Noble is
an affiliate of the Newark Rotary Club; the East Mound Community
Development Corporation; the Columbus Baptist Pastor's Conference;
the Ministerial Alliance of Columbus and Vicinity; the Newark Area
Ministerial Alliance, member of the Republican Senatorial Inner
Circle; Chairman of the Ohio Clergy and Business Leadership and
member of the Park National Bank Board of Directors.
His most noted
accomplishments consist of his pioneering and completing Newark's
first senior citizen apartment building, which was opened in 1974.
Construction of the church began in 1969 and the housing now includes
12 properties locally in Licking and Knox counties that services
the elderly, families with children, and the physically and mentally
impaired.
Other awards
and honors include his receiving the Sertoma Service to Mankind
Award; Who's Who Among Black Ministers in America and he was invited
for a special briefing at the White House with key cabinet members
and President Ronald Reagan. He was also honored to dine in the
home of Vice-President George Bush in 1987.
He is married
to retired United States Air Force Colonel Nora M. (Kendall) Noble
and is the father of Dr. Charles W. Noble, Jr., M.D., Lecia Noble
Pettigrew, Sylvia Noble Ochieng, Rev. Dr. Michael A. Noble, Sr.,
Shelly Noble Bass and Celia Noble.
Rev. Dr. Charles
W. Noble's basic philosophy is that the church must meet the needs
of the total man…that is if they are hungry--feed them…if they are
thirsty--give them a drink…if they are outdoors--give them better
housing.
